Permits for new commercial structure based in Kew Gardens have been filed
A new commercial building is in the works. The structure will be based in Kew Gardens, Queens and will be addressed at 136-21 Hillside Avenue, within walking distance of the Jamaica-Van Wyck Subway Station. The Jamaica Island Railroad Train Station is also just fifteen minutes away. The building will be classified as commercial and the development will be handled by Alex Gilkarov. The design is on the hands of Issac & Stern Architects.
The building will be 48 feet tall and will span a little over than 18k square feet. The commercial space of the tower will all be dedicated to medical use and there will be a parking area on the ground floor. This parking space will be able to fit 8 vehicles.
The recently released renderings revealed a very modern façade, that includes windows with aluminum frames and curtain-wall windows on the ground floor. There will probably be a terrace, since the renderings show glass railings on the top floor.
Even though the demolition permits for the current structure were filed back in 2011, an estimated completion date has not been announced yet. [NY Yimby]
