A new project is in the works for Kew Gardens, Queens. The tower will have eight stories and will be exclusively residential
, addressed at 83-05 116th Street. The building will be extremely well-located, being just a mile away from the Union Turnpike-Kew Gardens Subway Station, which is serviced by the E and F trains. Furthermore, the 121st Street Subway Station is three-quarters of a mile away, and this station is serviced by the J and Z trains. The building will be very close to popular Forest Park. This green area spans over 538 acres of trees and trails.
The development is owned by Starlink Condominiums, who purchased the lot back in April of 2017 and the design was designated to SM Tam Architects. The transaction cost the company $1.8 million. The new project will be 85 feet tall and will span 126,000 square feet. Developers will create 92 residential units that will average 887 square feet each. Rentals may be in order. There will be a lobby and an indoor recreation space, too. Furthermore, a parking space with room for 70 vehicles and 48 bicycles will be constructed and the tower will be topped with a rooftop terrace.
The demolition permits have not been filed, and a completion date has not been announced either. [NY Yimby]
