Jamaica continues to grow with new six-story mixed-use tower
The flourishing of Jamaica continues. A new project is in the works, with permits already filed. The project includes a mixed-use tower addressed at 87-83 168th Street, which will have six stories and will be mere blocks away from the Parson Boulevard Subway Station, which is serviced by both the E and F trains. Six extra blocks away is the Jamaica Center Subway Station, which is the final stop for three different lines: the E, J and Z trains.
The structure will be 59-foot tall and will span over 18k sf. Ziyana Properties will be in charge of development and Ang & Ang Architects Studio are the ones responsible for the design. Out the aforementioned square footage, 11,490 sf will be used to create ten residential units that will average 1,149 sf each, indicating condos. The remaining space will be used to create a residential lobby and a parking garage with room for seven vehicles, located on the first floor.
The cellar will be the home of a community space while a recreational area will be located on the roof, crowning the buildings. There will be two units per floor. The demolition permits were filed back in July 2017 but a completion date has not been released. [NY Yimby]
