The Boro Hotel: 38-28 27th Street, Long island City 11101
This past Sunday, Queens Beans was on site in Long Island City for an exclusive preview inside a new hotel that is in its final stage of completion. The hotel, to be named “The Boro Hotel”, is being noticed around Long Island City’s, Dutch Kills, submarket for its very interesting facade, (see photos). The upcoming hotel at 38-28 27th Street (also 38-26 27th Street according to public records) is being built by the Batalias family, spearheaded by Elias Batalias.
Mr. Batalias took Queens Beans for a tour through the hotel that is set to open sometime in mid-January of 2015. The hotel is to have 110 rooms and an event space. QueensBeans provides the photos of the boutique hotel prior to completion. Many of the rooms have beautiful unobstructed views facing west towards the Manhattan skyline.
It was reported by the Queens Brownstowner that this hotel is the second location for another Hotel Vetiver. The second Hotel Vetiver is actually located at 39-35 27th Street nearby and is currently half way done. The owner of Vetiver and Vetiver II, according to public records is Steven Baharestani and the second incomplete location is currently on the market to be sold as reported by the Queens Courier.
Queens Beans has confirmed with both Mr. Baharestani and Mr. Batalias that the public record is correct.
