42-12 28th Street, Long Island City (Progress Update)
Just before the holiday weekend, The Real Deal had reported that PNC Bank financed $154 million for Heatherwood Communities’ 447-unit residential rental tower at 42-12 28th Street. The development sits across from their 27-on-27th building and once completed, this 646-foot tower is to be called “28-on-28th.” The project was set to be the tallest tower in Long Island City until Property Markets Group filed for their plans of a 772-foot tower at the top of Queens Plaza North (29-37 41st Avenue).
QueensBeans.com was on site to update the current progress as the first set of floors of the building designed by Goldstein, Hill and West, Architects are now up. The photo also shows the recently excavated site of the project to come at 28-02 42nd Road.
